When are your salsa classes?

We teach salsa classes every Saturday at 12pm and every other Tuesday at 7pm.

What is salsa music?

Salsa is a type of Caribbean music that comes with a rich Afro-Cuban history. The rhythm is largely based on the son clave rhythm, an instrument composed of two pieces wood.

‘Salsa music’ is an umbrella term to describe a medley of dances and music.

Often, when you go out ‘salsa dancing’ you may also end up dancing and listening to merengue, bachata, the cha cha cha, rumba, cumbia, and reggaeton.

What kind of salsa dancing do you teach?

We focus on teaching students to lead and follow, so you can apply what you learn to any of the styles.

You never need to bring a partner with you. Participants rotate and practice with other class participants.

Students will learn shines, leg work, arm work, body movement, spins, body isolations, shoulder shimmies, and body rolls.

The best way to learn is to attend class and to supplement your classes by practicing the basics.

On the 4th Friday of the month, we host a Latin Dance Social.

Dance socials are special events specifically hosted so that dance students can practice while having a fun night out.

A SPECIAL NOTE FOR BEGINNERS

We understand how intimidating salsa can be for new learners.

Please note: You do NOT need to know how to dance before coming to class. It helps but it's not necessary.

We welcome you to reach out to us if you have any other questions.
